The Clements Prize: Composers' Workshop

Join historian and bestselling author Anne Sebba for an illuminating talk on her book A Women’s Orchestra, followed by a special concert performance from acclaimed cellist Raphael Wallfisch and pianist Simon Callaghan. With a deeply personal connection to the story—Raphael's mother was a member of this remarkable ensemble—Wallfisch and Callaghan bring the history to life through music by Dutch composer Henriette Bosmans. An evening where words and music intertwine to honour resilience, artistry, and a powerful chapter of musical history.

The concert will be preceded by an afternoon masterclass from 12.30-15.30pm.

Reimagined Festival

The British cellist Raphael Wallfisch, son of Holocaust survivor and cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, performs with pianist Simon Callaghan in major works by composers of diverse musical backgrounds and approaches who were caught up in the suffering and upheaval of the Second World War.
