Viola Tales

Viola Tales

I have played with Rosie Ventris in many different ensembles for about the last 6 or 7 years, and we first performed as a duo in 2018, in Liszt's crazy arrangement for viola and piano of Berlioz's 'Harold in Italy'! The viola is often thought of as closest in timbre to the human voice, and there are so many wonderful pieces for viola and piano that tell stories. Numerous composers have written works where the music brings ancient tales to life and offers an engaging, exciting experience for all ages! Have a look on our recital programmes page for more information, and use the contact page if you would like to find out more.

This is only the second appearance of pianist Simon Callaghan within this Hyperion series of recordings and hopefully there will be more...
