A Summer of Teaching
Ingenium Summer Academy 2019
This summer has been incredibly rewarding in terms of teaching. I spent four weeks at the Ingenium Academy in Winchester, following pretty quickly by a week at the Chetham's Summer School.
At Ingenium this year we not only had the pleasure of welcoming over 50 pianists from a few dozen countries to study piano with us, but also worked with them on chamber music, sight-reading, technique and many other workshops! They had the chance to hear Susan Bullock in recital (as a warm-up for her concert at the Wigmore Hall with Richard Sisson) and we were also delighted that Alexandra Dariescu visited us to give a masterclass. Finally, it was a pleasure to give several recitals during the course in Oxford and Winchester, both alongside the students and with my dear friend, Clíodna Shanahan, in a performance of Rachmaninoff's Second Suite for two pianos.
