NIMBUS Schumann & Poulenc cover

Les Soirées de Nazelles and Carnaval are among the finest sets of miniatures either composer wrote, and they make natural companions on disc: both are portrait galleries, and both keep their subjects half hidden behind masks. Schumann's much-loved Kinderszenen completes the programme — a third set of character pieces, and the quietest of the three.

"Les Soirées de Nazelles and Carnaval are not only two of my favourite pieces to perform, but as some of the finest examples of sets of miniatures, they also make excellent companions on disc. Making this recording has been a true labour of love." — Simon Callaghan
