Simon Callaghan's first solo album, and an early statement of the territory he has worked in ever since: English piano music that had fallen out of sight. It opens with world premiere recordings of works by Thomas Best, and includes what remains the only available recording of Parry's Shulbrede Tunes — a set of domestic portraits written at his daughter's house in Sussex — alongside William Sterndale Bennett's Sonata in F minor.
