Out today on EM Records: Beauty Veil'd, chamber music by Dorothy Howell and her circle, recorded with the Berkeley Ensemble in Oxford last summer. Every work on the disc is a world premiere recording.

One of them had to be rebuilt before it could be played at all. Howell's String Quartet in D minor was lost for decades, and the Berkeley Ensemble's violist Dan Shilladay reconstructed it from her pencil sketches. Alongside it are Marie Dare's Phantasy Quintet, Howell's Adagio & Caprice, Tobias Matthay's Piano Quartet in One Movement and John Blackwood McEwen's Nugae.
