Tonight's semi-final of BBC Young Musician 2026 is on BBC Four and iPlayer, and I'm delighted to be part of it, playing with the wonderful young violinist Sofia Demetriades. We filmed it back in July at Swansea University's Bay Campus, with Petroc Trelawny presenting and Joanna MacGregor and Ben Gernon on the jury.

Sofia played Szymanowski's La fontaine d'Aréthuse from Mythes, Lili Boulanger's Nocturne and the Square Dance from Paul Schoenfield's Four Souvenirs. Congratulations to her on reaching the final, which will be broadcast on 1 November!
